TEACHER

Jodie’s Broadway background as a Broadway actress,  as well as her university training from NYU’s Prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and her Masters Degree from U.C.L.A has contributed to the teacher she is today.  Her studio “Jodie Langel Vocal And Acting Studio” is based in Boca Raton, Florida.  She currently has over 100 students.  around the world and has hosted master classes at her studio with some of Broadway’s top talent.  Her studio provides EVERY aspect of vocal and acting training including vocal technique, song selection (she has a database of over 400,000 songs), audition technique, college preparation, college prescreens, acting coaching and mentoring students of all ages.

 

Jodie has taught extensively throughout Florida, has directed and taught private voice at University, School,Nova Southeastern University, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, New World School of Performing Arts,and Mad Dance in Miami to name a few. ACTRESS
 

Jodie is a Broadway Actress, Author, Renowned Teacher and Coach. Her Broadway/Broadway National Tour Credits include “Les Miserables” (Cosette), "Joseph...Dreamcoat" (Narrator), "CATS"(Grizabella), for which she has the distinction of being the youngest actor to portray the role, and the Pre-Broadway show “Martin Guerre” (lead character Bertrande).  Most Recently, Jodie starred as Donna in "Mamma Mia" at the Ogunquit Playhouse and at Short North Theater.  Florida audiences may have seen Jodie as Diana in the critically acclaimed production of "Next to Normal" at Actors' Playhouse in Miami, for which she received the prestigious Silver Palm and Broadway World Awards, as well as a Carbonell Award nomination. She also starred in the highly acclaimed production of "Joseph...Dreamcoat" at the Maltz Jupiter Theater and "Evita" (Eva Peron) at Maltz Jupiter Theater (Carbonell Nomination) as well as North Carolina Theater.   Her NY Credits include:  "Bernstein's Mass" at Carnegie Hall/Kennedy Center), "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change" at the Westside Theater in NYC. Jodie won “Best Actress” in “I Come For Love” at the NYMF Festival in New York City and the NY Workshop of “The First Wives' Club” (understudy to Ana Gastayer). 

 

Regional Credits include lead roles in "Funny Girl" (Merry Go Playhouse and West Virginia Public Theater), "Smile" (Maine State Music Theater), the Tony Award-Winning Eugene O Neill Theater Conference, "The Thing About Men" (LA Premiere, Music Theater West) and as well as "Chess" at Paper Mill Playhouse, directed by Rob Marshall.  She also starred in “Bare” at the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale and played Mrs. Walker in “Tommy” with Tony-nominated actress Adrienne Warren at Cleveland Musical Theater. More regional credits upon request.  

 

Soloist, Cabaret

 

As a Soloist, Jodie has performed  for President Clinton, with the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra, the with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and has had the distinct honor to sing the “National Anthem” at the Mets/Yankees Subway Series.  Jodie performs her cabaret show throughout Florida and has opened for comedian Robert Klein and Broadway legend Lee Roy Reams.

 

TV credits include: "Rescue Me" and VH1’s "Singing Scentsations."

Jodie co-authored the book "MAKING IT ON BROADWAY: ACTORS' TALES OF CLIMBING TO THE TOP," with a foreword by Jason Alexander. This book is a candid, behind-the-scenes, and sometimes shocking look at Broadway's stars, comprised of Jodie'sinterviews with such notables as Jason Alexander, Antonio Banderas, Brooke Shields, Chita Rivera, Idina Menzel, Ann Miller, and Donna Murphy, to name a few. Jodie personally interviewed each of these Broadway stars as they shared their personal stories and struggles of climbing to the top. Making It on Broadway

Jodie is the CEO and founder of the acclaimed educational program "Making It on Broadway" (www.makingitonbroadway.net). Making It on Broadway is a world-renowned musical theatre training program where students explore the realities of what it means to be a Broadway professional.
